* Buchert Road farmhouse

GILBERTSVILLE, Pa. —
An abandoned farmhouse on Buchert Road in Gilbertsville, Pa., would be on JAM Paranormal’s list to investigate again — but it was torn down shortly after we investigated.

The pending destruction of the house, however, didn't stop someone or something from making contact with us.

The farmhouse, which had reports of lights being seen inside, is scheduled to be demolished, but not before JAM Paranormal got the chance to prove or disprove the suspected haunting.

On Sept. 14, JAM Paranormal investigator Ryan Dotterer and myself spent an hour investigating the old farmhouse.

We entered through the basement and I immediately checked the electrical box with my EMF meter. It registered a zero, as did most of the basement. However, once upstairs on the second floor of the three-story building (including attic), we started to get EMF readings spiking to 1.0. It’s not particularly high, but the fact that the house does not have electricity makes it interesting to note the spikes.

Also, at the time of a spike in the attic, a steady 1.0, Dotterer and I noticed a person standing outside of the farmhouse. Both Dotterer and I witnessed this person staring right at us through the attic window.

We figured we’d go outside and explain why were in the abandoned house to this curious person, but when we got outside, no one was in sight. Now, JAM Paranormal cannot say that this experience was paranormal due to the fact it took a minute and 30 seconds for us to get outside to where we would have seen the person, but when we reviewed the audio, there is a loud sigh right before Dotterer tells me that someone is watching us (EVP 1).

This wasn’t the only EVP caught at the Buchert Road farmhouse. In the basement, when we entered, we caught was sounds to be a little boy’s laugh right before I speak (EVP 2: turn your speakers up for this one). There also is an EVP caught on the second floor, where a whispered voice says, "Here," and then a deeper voice says "No." In between, Dotterer speaks. It's fairly clear to hear what is not supposed to be there (EVP 3).

The Buchert Road farmhouse is an interesting place and we’ll try to get back to conduct a more thorough investigation. We never experienced the reported glowing lights, however, the three EVPs and EMF spikes do indicate that something paranormal may be going on.

As of right now, we conclude that we do not have enough evidence to deem the farmhouse haunted. And since it was torn down, we will never know for sure.
