* Fairview Cemetery

BOYERTOWN, Pa. — Along with investigator Ryan Dotterer, I went to check out Fairview Cemetery in Boyertown, Pa. It wasn't a full investigation, but we wanted to let our recorders run for a bit and see if anything or anyone had something to say.

Fairview is a fairly large cemetery on the west side of Boyertown. It's most notably known as the cemetery, which has the mass grave for the unidentified in the Rhoads Opera House fire.

On Jan. 13, 1908, one of the worst fires in U.S. history struck the Rhoads Opera House in Boyertown. Several were trapped inside and 170 men, women and children perished in the fire.

Ryan and I walked over to the large gravestone which had the names of several victims whose bodies were never found. Ashes from the fire were buried at this site with the gravestone to commemorate those who were not found.

We placed a digital recorder there and left to walk around the graveyard with my recorder.

On my digital recorder, we picked up at least six EVPs, two real solid ones, however, what is being said is hard to make out. On Ryan's, a voice is heard while the recorder was left all by itself. We were far enough away to know it wasn't us, and we were able to see the gravestone and we knew we were the only people there.

As stated, this was just a peak into a place that interested us. We will return at a later date for a full investigation, and we'll keep you updated to when that will happen.
